Director’s Message
Welcome to UT and the Fibers and Composites Manufacturing Facility (FCMF)! The FCMF is integrated with the Tennessee Manufacturing Ecosystem comprising UT, Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (MDF), The Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI), and the East Tennessee Composites Coalition.
The mission of the FCMF is to:
- Engage undergraduate, graduate and K-12 students, our next generation work force, in state of the art advanced engineered plastics and composites technologies.
- Serve industry in its broad needs of concept to prototyping, applications development, testing, validation, process, and modeling with advanced materials technologies.
- Conduct high quality, impactful research, development, and education in the advanced high tech areas of materials and manufacturing.
