FCMF hosted its annual open house in Summer 2019. Over 130 participants attended the activities that included (but not limited to):
55+ student poster presentations
Display of the technologies at FCMF in areas of automotive, aerospace, trailers, mass transit, rail, power transmission, corrosion resistant chemical piping, sporting goods.
Tour of the FCMF features range of technologies included LFT, extrusion-compression, additive manufacturing, twin screw compounding, thermoplastic tape impregnation, high rate compression molding, NDE, design/modeling simulation and carbon fiber technologies.
Student participants included undergraduate and graduates from UT, Fordham U, Purdue U, Michigan State U, Auburn U, U. of Alabama, South Dakota School of Mines, Tennessee Tech to name a few.
We thank the administrative leaders from UT, ORNL, IACMI and industry for their participation. We welcome Tickle College of Engineering’s new Dean Janis Terpenny.
