Biography
Graduate Research Assistant at the Fibers and Composites Manufacturing Facility (FCMF) and a Ph.D. student in Energy Science and Engineering through the Bredesen Center at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He also holds a concurrent master's degree in Industrial Engineering and earned his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
His research focuses on advancing sustainable composite manufacturing through the development of natural fiber technologies. At FCMF, Franklyn investigates discontinuous-to-continuous natural-fiber architectural enhancements, natural-fiber sizing, and the incorporation of bio-based additives to improve the performance, manufacturability, and sustainability of composite materials. His work supports the development of next-generation sustainable components for a wide range of engineering applications.
