SAMPE Charlotte May 2022 – FCMF students win in bridge & poster contest

 SAMPE Conference and Exhibition is exclusively dedicated to advanced materials and processes. Produced by the North America Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering, this event brings together leading companies, engineers, scientists, and professionals from throughout the advanced materials and processes industry.

Vinit Chaudhary received second place in SAMPE student poster competition

The team designed and built three different composite bridges as part of the signature bridge testing contest at SAMPE. Two of the three designs won in the different categories. Students Sanjita Wasti, Vinit Chaudhary, Benjamin Schwartz, research associate Pritesh Yeole, Hannah Maser, Cade Walker were some of the students who participated in this exciting design, build and test competition.

Vinit Chaudhary, Master’s student won the second place in the student poster competition for his work on recycling of carbon fiber composites and pathway to composite products. Congratulations to Vinit.

Dr. Uday Vaidya served as the SAMPE 2022 Technical Co-Chair where the conference featured 124 technical presentations, 6 targeted expert panels ranging over a wide variety of technical topics. Vaidya also led a panel on Sustainability with panelists Vlastimil Kunc (Section head at ORNL), Dale Brosius (IACMI CEO), Parans Parnthamans (Corporate Fellow, ORNL) and Julio Guerrero (Hydrogen energy expert).
