Hicham Ghossein

    Biography

    Ghossein earned his Ph.D. in 2018 from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville with two master’s degrees from UAB in the fields of Physics (2010) and Materials Science & Engineering (2013). Ghossein serves as the president of Endeavor Composites, Inc. and an entrepreneurial fellow at the Department of Energy-Advanced Manufacturing Office-Innovation Crossroads Program at Oak Ridge National Lab. During this program, Ghossein worked on scaling up and commercializing a carbon fiber nonwoven technology that allowed the production of turnkey preform solutions for innovation in advanced composites manufacturing. During his graduate studies, Ghossein conducted multiple customer discoveries exercises through the NSF I-Corps program and was lead student on several IACMI projects. He was awarded The Heart of Smoke and Fire challenge coin by Scott Forge Space Program in 2016, The Eisenhower School of Defense- Advanced Manufacturing challenge coin and The Secretary of The Army – Civilian Aide challenge coin in 2018. During his entrepreneurial career, Ghossein negotiated potential commercialization agreement for the nonwoven fabrics for advanced composites production with transportation & communication OEMs and recently received an Air Force Phase I STTR award. Ghossein serves as the awards chair for the composite division with society of plastic engineers and a board member with the composites coalition steering committee in the east Tennessee area.
