Sanjita Wasti, PhD student wins big at SPE ACCE, Sep 07-09, 2022

Congratulations to Sanjita Wasti, 2nd year PhD student with FCMF for winning two prestigious awards at the Society for Plastics Engineers (SPE) Automotive Composites Conference & Exposition, Se 07-09, 2022 at Novi Michigan.

SPE ACCE is North America’s most prominent show in Automotive Composites since 2002.

1) Sanjita received the HAROLD GILES award for outstanding student award. The Composite Division offers this scholastic scholarship in honor of the late Dr. Harold Giles, a past Composite Division Awards Chair. As a former University Professor at the University of North Carolina, Azdel employee, and GE employee, Harold Giles knew full well the value of student scholarships. He was always a proponent of awarding worthy students and served the society well in this capacity. Sanjita received $3500 scholarship.

2) Sanjita also won Dr. Jackie Rehkopf Scholarship at this event.

This award in the honor of the late Jackie Rehkopf who was a recognized engineer who published books and was actively involved in the composites industry. The Automotive and Composites Divisions co-sponsor these awards and therefore co-coordinate. This award is presented annually at the SPE ACCE conference each fall and is a premiere award for exemplary performance.
Preference will be given to female students but the best candidates will be selected. Focus should be on research activities targeted to ground transportation composite technology. Sanjita received $2500 for this prestigious award.

We are proud of Sanjita on these outstanding accomplishments.
